Second-hand-heaven is in Sundbyberg, a cozy part of Stockholm. Not many people know this, but it´s full of flea-markets that are not as hip and trendy as other areas. Therefore, one can make bargains. This is where I partly grew up and I never thought I would come to like it. But after strolling the little tree-lined streets today, I decided I do.
I just watched an american show about childpornography, childabuse and trafficking. This is an international problem spreading rapidly. The amount of pictures and movies spreading with children being asaulted "normalizes" the behaviour for pedofiles. I hereby encourage everyone reading this to support your local organisation against childpornography.
After lunch with AnnaKlara at Kulturhuset I stopped at the exhibition by Loretta Lux.I was so surprised and impressed by her work. Its photography, painting and digital work in one. I even bought the book.
I keep coming back to James Victores work. The most inspiring, yet arrogant, teacher I´ve ever studdied for. His way of bending ones mind still has a great inpact on my work.
My mind seem to work in cycles of 3-4 years. Back then I worked with photographs that I turned into patterns. I got sick of my own expression and put it away for a while. But I now seem to be drawn to that again, feeling drawn to talented peoples work such as Jason Mills, Lisa Bengtsson and Åsa Lindström. Perhaps I should dig out my old work and finally do something about it? I´ll show you some of it later!
Oh, our little family enjoyed a sunny and warm easter at the summerhouse. We just walked, ate, made spring-fires and our own easter-tree. Finally spring is coming to the North.
I was tagged by Elisabeth to show 5 pictures with what I love about being a mom. Heres my comments, in photos. But I did more than 5. After all, I´m the mother of Otto. Nothing is modest about that.
He came back from South Africa today. I´m sooo jealous since SA is one of my favorite countries to visit. But just by having Michael going there it feels like a part of me have been there as well.
Bought some great ink here yesterday and I had to try it along with breakfast. So peaceful to begin the day with drawing while little Otto was playing on the floor. Life is not always at this ease.
Went to the old town to visit super-talented friends Maria Raymondsdotter and Janette Bornmarker today. Otto, however, wasn´t up for the visit so I didn´t get a chance to photograph their inspiring interior. But visist their website for some kick-ass work! Afterwards, little man fell asleep and mom could rest.
